It has been 3 eventful months and a lot has been going on - both in the professional as well as the personal front but i have not felt like putting my heart out in the open for people to read what's in it and jump to their own conclusions....
today i just felt like penning down something. I have been writing for a few years now...I always loved writing big, long letters to my friend. S is a childhood friend of mine. They stayed a few houses down our block- in fact her parents are still here. we have been friends for a long time now- for over 20 years.
Anyways, in between this time, her father got transferred to Coimbatore and the family shifted there. her grand-parents and uncle were here. Her father would come every once in a while to BLR. R & me would keep all kinds of innovative ways of communication channels open with her. We would record what we wanted to tell her in a cassette (anyone remember that any more??) and send it through her father to her. Where as I would also write her long letters - sometimes 6-long book sheets long. I loved writing even then :-)!
For someone who came from a Kannada medium (me) - it was not hard to write at all. All those letters are well preserved but she told me only recently - that she would get bored to read so much and just skim through the pages to know the important info :-) :-)
So, one fine day, I decided I will start blogging and HAPPY-GO-LUCKY came into being.
Along the way, i became a little dejected thinking no one was reading them, even if they were reading -there were no comments and I thought of stopping it but my daughter has been an inspiration.
I wrote about something concerning her - something that happened last year, she makes me tell the story to everyone & anyone who will listen - So, finally for her sake i have continued to write...
If nothing else, I am leaving her with a legacy on an electronic-medium, which will be here forever imprinted for her to read, remember and contemplate what her mothers thoughts were on her, or other subjects.
May be when she grows up she will learn something from it- if nothing, just to have fun!!
